When someone picks up, you can use the sample below but it will be even more impactful if you use your own words and add your own reasons for demanding action on climate change:

“Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME], I am one of your constituents living in [YOUR CITY/TOWN, STATE].

[IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS, MENTION THE NAME AND WHERE YOU DO BUSINESS, AND PERHAPS HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS IMPACTING YOUR BUSINESS].

I am calling to ask the Senator to support the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 which will be voted on soon. It will create millions of good paying clean energy jobs, secure domestic energy sources, reduce energy bills for working families across the country, and put our nation on the path to cut carbon pollution in half by 2030. It is good for our economy, families, and our nation.

Please vote yes for the Inflation Reduction Act.

Thank you for taking the time to listen and pass my requests along to the Senator.”
